Running Shoe Guy has not overlooked the best Barefoot Running Shoes either- on the contrary! Honestly, the shoes we started running with back in the 70’s were very much like the newest Barefoot selections. Flat, Firm and Stable shoes back then have finally come full circle- now they are low profile, firm, light and incredibly comfortable! I held out for many years with older shoes right through the 1990’s with the Asics Epirus Classic, a wonderful basic EVA midsole shoe- ran thousands upon thousands of miles in those babys. I could not be more pleased to see the simple styles coming back. Mainly because there are significantly less injuries as we are forced to run correctly, cadence, balance, beautifully.
Trail Running Shoes are not forgotten either! The Running Shoe Guy grew up on trails, most of that running has been on grass, trails, and rough terrain. I have had almost every carnation of trail shoe over the years. I must say it is a joy to see the focus companies have recently put into this realm of Running Shoe. Off Road running is probably the best for our bodies, makes us strong, provides balance and builds an amazing amount of stamina and endurance- WooHoo!
